KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Country Controller is the most senior finance professional in the Country organization and will be responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial and business supporting. The Country Controller coordinates all finance functions for their geographic region or country, including accounting, financial reporting and analysis activities as well as ensuring management of controls and processes. The Country Controller ensures that Country financial statements are accurate, complete and in accordance with country requirements, corporate policies and industry practices. This role uses accounting and economic skills to evaluate operating data, detect business trends and prepare financial statements that comply with industry practices, regulatory requirements and US GAAP accounting principles. The Country Controller will also act as a very close business partner to the Country Leader.

  • Prepares statements of monthly financial data including income statement and balance sheet. Analysis of financial results as compared to monthly objectives.
  • Responsible for the financial performance measurements within the Country, while ensuring financial performance reporting is accurate and timely meeting the constant changing need of the Country operations and in compliance with CFM and GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  • Accountable for proper procedures, policies and controls being in place in order to maintain strong internal controls.
  • Responsible for internal and external statutory reporting and for maintaining integrity, while assuring that Generally Accepted Accounting Practices are in place.
  • Respond to special financial requests and analysis and communicate potential problem areas. Conduct financial reviews/analysis as requested.
  • Ensures technically qualified personnel are placed in all positions and has training and development programs available for the division accounting organization.
  • Reviews and evaluates investments in all operating initiatives.
  • Compliance with corporate policy relative to Country Operations - Shared with SBU Leaders/Group Controllers.
  • Delivery of Country budget – Shared with Country Lead, and In Country SBU Sales Leadership.
  • Delivery of country forecast – Shared with Country Leader, and In Country SBU Sales Leadership.
  • Reviewing financial results with the Country Leader.
  • Review of the statutory financial results with SBU Controller prior to filing statutory reports.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in finance related roles including financial planning and analysis, process improvement or project management.
  • Expertise in business analysis & financial modeling.
  • 5 or more years of leadership/management experience.
  • Commercial finance experience working with senior sales and marketing teams
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills, ability to deliver financial data in a user friendly and relevant manner
  • Strong project management skills

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:

  • ERP systems software (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred)
  • Previous experience with Hyperion Suite of Tools
  • Ability to logically plan, organize and complete work assignments in team settings
  • Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and possess a high concern for the accuracy of information given including attention to the status and details of projects and assignments
  • Must possess the highest degree of integrity and ethical standards
  • Has managerial skills needed for making recommendations within a department in the areas of compensation, staff selection, disciplinary action, complaints, staff performance appraisal, and similar supervisory duties. Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of subordinates for effective operations.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Certifications/Licensing: CPA or CMA or equivalent international certification preferred.

COMPENSATION

The qualified candidate for this position will be paid a competitive base salary, which in part, will be influenced by the relevant experience that they bring to the position as well as their growth potential. In addition, this individual will participate in an annual incentive program, and a comprehensive benefits program.
